Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
I know he's utterly shit, but I sort of pitied him during that interview.

I don't think he's a bad bloke, and I reckon it bothers him that we never took to him.

He gets 50 bags a week and he can no longer do the job.

Dead man walking.

It's nobodies fault... LIFE is a hard old bitch.

He was a good player, even for us for a while, but his legs are gone. I do feel a bit sorry for him getting the vitriol he does, but we're not a charity.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
I'd have no issue clapping him if he came back with another team. His legs have gone and he shouldn't be anywhere near a Premiership game, but he doesn't pick himself so it's harsh when he gets booed for stepping on the pitch.

Did a job for us though, was just given a contract at least one year too long.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
I'm his harshest critic of him playing. But the last 2 years have not been his fault. Allardyce should of gone last year and Nolan with him.
But it needs to stop now. I'm all for giving him grieve on here but at the home game 1st leg it was embarrassing to hear some idiots telling him to fuck off to Sunderland.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
lets not forget what he said just before that! that sentence u have picked up on is the usual shit in case he don't get sold but before being pushed on things he said that the gaffer had been good to him this summer and there is still time left in transfer window so they will talk....he is off thank fuck!

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
It's impossible not to love a club who has paid you around £10m over the last four years with another £2.5m to come this season.

Worth it for the first two seasons, the other three have been a Brucie bonus.

He come across well but he wouldn't be any different tbh

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
i think he was still doing his bit season before last. Considering some of the fucking shite we've signed down the years I find the degree of resentment towards him both strange and unfair. Can only assume that it's because he's so closely associated with Allardyce.

If no other club wants or can afford him, give him a job as player/coach of the Development side.

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
I think this is the reality setting into Nolan that his best offers has probably been about £300 a week from tranmere and that it doesn't quite add up to the 65k a week he gets from us ......so he LOVES the club and wants to stay....honest

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
Not sure about that as he played him with a load of players that he clearly thinks won't play a part in our league game
In fact I'd say it must be a bit of a kick in the bollox that he fancies a 16year old centre half in the middle of the park over him

I'm guessing anybody over the age 18/19 that wasn't jenkinson that played tonight has zero future at the club

Re: Nolan "I love the club and I'd love to stay"
I think utterly shit is, well, utterly shit.

He's done a great job for us in his time here and deserves respect for that.

He's also clearly on the back nine of his career now and needs to make a choice between staying here but not playing regularly, or moving on to another club, probably in the Championship, where he can bring his experience to bear by playing every week.

Personally, if he can cope without regular football, I'd keep him here, if not, I'll wish him well with thanks for what he's done for the club.

Good lad, Kev...
